Greece aims to maintain its position as a top destination among travelers, with its presence at the international tourism exhibition ITB Berlin, promoting the extension of the tourist season, new destinations on the islands and inland, and the sustainability framework in tourism.

The ITB exhibition in Berlin is an important attraction for the country’s tour operators and travel agencies, as they have the opportunity to meet travel agencies from international tourism markets. The German tourism market itself is a key market for Greece, as large numbers of German travelers choose our country for their trips. At the same time, participants have the opportunity this year to attend many events, which host around 400 international speakers on international tourism issues.

Lysandros Tsilidis, president of FedHATTA, stated: “Through our close cooperation with ECTAA (European Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Associations) we have de facto close contacts with the German tourism market, through the DRV. We know that Greece is a desirable destination for German travelers, on many levels: cultural tourism, activities, recreation, etc. The Greek travel agencies participating in the ITB exhibition this year are certain to make constructive contacts and this will have a good medium-term return for incoming tourism, mainly in our country.”
